Mission

 


Nekoosa United Church of Christ is committed to reaching out to the world in ways that share the passion of Christ in a world that needs both His Healing and Grace.  We promote a mission consciousness and conscience with the church. We promote the understanding of and support of Our Church’s Wider Mission throughout the church. We recommend to the church council what special benevolence offerings shall be received and promoted within the church as a whole. We supervise any local mission projects in the church. We make recommendations to the church council for the expenditures of monies designated for mission purposes from the Investment Earnings Fund.

There are five annual ways our church can give to advance the Conference, National and International dimensions of God’s mission in the UCC. We are batting  5 for 5.

Nekoosa United Church of Christ Serves through providing space and assistance to the following:

  • Rainbow Preschool
  • AARP - American Association of Retired Persons
  • The Nekoosa Senior Citizens
  • AA - Alcoholics Anonymous
  • Wood County Energy Assistance Department
  • Life Line Screening

 

Members of the Nekoosa United Church of Christ also serve the wider community by volunteering at or for:

 

  • SWEPS - South Wood County Emergency Pantry Shelf
  • Meals on Wheels
  • Nursing homes
  • And more!

Nekoosa United Church of Christ is also a Meal site for the Aging Resource of Wood County.
